Our Challenge

A Shared Resource. A Shared Responsibility.

Like rivers across the West, the Cache La Poudre faces increasing pressure—from growth, changing climate conditions, competing demands, and aging infrastructure.
These challenges are complex.
And no single organization, sector, or solution can address them alone. What the river needs is thoughtful care, long-term vision, and a community willing to work together.

One River, Many Roles

The Cache La Poudre River supplies water to our Northern Front Range cities, farms, homes, and businesses.

It shapes our economy, our recreation, our landscape, and our identity as people who live in this watershed.

For generations, the Poudre has given quietly and consistently.

New Challenges

Today, the river faces increasing pressure—from ongoing drought, wildfire, growth, and competing water uses. These challenges are complex, interconnected, and long-term. No single organization or solution can address them alone.

But our community has something powerful: the ability to work together.

Stewardship

The Poudre River Fund exists to provide a community-driven, long-term financial mechanism that protects and enhances the Poudre River Watershed. The fund mobilizes capital and collaboration to drive a shared vision among diverse partners—enabling strategic, coordinated investments in the river as both a natural and economic community asset.

Through the fund, community members can steward financial resources toward thoughtful, collaborative work that strengthens the health of the river—now and for generations to come.

The Poudre River belongs to all of us.

Its future is something we share.

And its legacy is one we can help shape—together.
